The Descendants of Aquilla Greer, Sr
I am in awe of the research that has been done on the Greer family. The details, anecdotes, and documentation make this a wonderful read for me.
I am one of the granddaughters that attended my grandfather's funeral in Savannah, GA, Zedoc George Greer. I would like to add more to his story as he was a loyal son, doting father and grandfather, wonderful story teller, a merchant marine, a survivor of a Uboat attack during WWI that had him jumping off his ship into a flame filled ocean and surviving with the extensive burns on his back. PTSD was not recognized in his time.
He left 4 granddaughters, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grand children. We know his name and story. He was a good man.

Parts of this research are wrong
Sine Bea released this research in 2005, further research has proven that there are 2 major errors: Error 1: The James Grear who left England for Maryland in 1674 cannot have been James Grier of Capenoch who had been dead for 12 years. Error 2: The DNA results are consistent and have made several things clear: 1. James Grear of Gunpowder River and descendants are in no way related to the MacGregors, 2. James Grear was probably a direct descendant of Niall of the Nine Hostages, 3. James Grear's line and ancestors, almost certainly originated and remained in Northern Ireland where 20% of the male population is of similar genetic descent.
